Artist Nikki Wheeler specializes in realistic oil paintings. She enjoys images with dramatic contrast between light and dark, and prefers a palette of rich earthy colors. Although she began art lessons when she was 10, Nikki did not become serious about art until her college years. She has studied art at both State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Western Washington University, earning a BA in Fine Art from WWU in 1995. Continued inspiration for her artwork comes from the beauty of the human form, in all shapes and sizes. Figure drawing and painting has been an ongoing passion for Nikki, which led her to begin her own weekly figure drawing group in 2006.
Nikki currently resides in Snohomish, and enjoys being part of the local art community.
