My first real introduction to
art was art class in middle school.
The teacher thought she saw some potential in me, and next thing I
know the parents are enrolling me into an atelier in Edmonds, WA (The Studio
@ Firdale Arts Center). I spent the
next five years there learning, painting & enjoying. Also took every art class offered at the
high school. I did the art college
thing at the old Burnley School of Commercial Arts. Later I decided I hated commercial art, so
I took all the art classes at EDCC so I could have a venue to produce
art. I ended up learning how to restore old plaster and have spent many
years at that, all the while yearning to spend more time creating art . I finally got to a point where I needed to
have art as a major part of my life. Some years back I found and joined
up with a very small group of artists who had just started a figure drawing
group in a barn north of Snohomish, WA.

Several years later and now in
the group's third incarnation we are still drawing the figure. We've now had our own studios and gallery
at Lowell Art Works since 2007. |
